· Roughly 10% of the children in the United States have some form of learning disability.
· This figure does not include those with mental retardation, a primary emotional disorder or specific modality difficulties.
· Of the 30-40 million people with disabilities in the U.S., 80-90% of them have no contact with a Christ-centered, Bible teaching church.
· Four out of five marriages, in which a family member has a disability, end in divorce, after the disability enters the family.
· Parents of children with “hidden disabilities” struggle with their own sets of issues. As one parent put it, “People can’t tell where the disability ends and (what they think is) bad parenting begins.”
· Stress, economic strain and fatigue are common.
