Mental Health INclusion Strategies Any Children’s Ministry Can Do!

Mental health disorders are the leading cause of disability among children and teens in the U.S. and common conditions such as depression, anxiety disorders, ADHD, and disruptive behavior disorders significantly impact church attendance. This breakout is designed for any church pastor, ministry leader, staff member, or volunteer interested in becoming more intentional in outreach and inclusion with families impacted by mental illness. Participants will be provided with the resources to initiate a mental health ministry plan and be introduced to a series of mental health inclusion strategies that have been implemented in churches of all sizes and denominations. Examples of innovative ministry strategies from churches throughout the U.S. will be shared.

Engaging Ways to Teach the Gospel to Students with Learning Differences

Whether you are in an inclusive classroom setting or providing one-on-one buddy support, we all face the same challenge: we have the biblical mandate to share the Gospel with all people, including our students with learning differences. This hands-on breakout will provide practical tools and strategies to make the truth of God accessible to everyone, whether you are using pre-packaged curriculum or creating your own. Participants will be equipped to share key Bible truths in a manner that will engage students with a variety of learning differences including those with non-verbal or limited speech, sensory differences, intellectual disabilities, or common hidden disabilities.
